Master P Signs Heisman WinnerHeisman Trophy winner Ricky Williams has inked a deal with Master P's No Limit Sports. At a Thursday (Feb. 11) press conference in Baton Rouge, La., Williams said that many people had advised him against signing on with the rap mogul. "They were saying, 'Don't do it. He's not an agent, he's a businessman.' Master P told me to ask them how much money they made last year. [He] came from nowhere and has gone to the top. We're on the same wavelength." P, who reportedly made $56 million in 1998, was present at the conference, though he remained silent throughout. "Williams was not only the kind of athlete the agency likes to represent, but also the kind of human being that will fit in well with the No Limit philosophy," said No Limit Sports COO Tevester E. Scott in a statement. Williams, who broke 20 NCAA records in his time at the University of Texas, stuck through school and received a BA in education. "My insurance against injury," he says, "Will be my education." |
